Want Lipo But Not The Downtime? Try Liposculpture!

Liposculpture refers to a minimally invasive form of liposuction that sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat without general anesthesia or sedation. Remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, neck & chin, and upper arms without going under.

For even better results, Dr. Osman combines liposculpture with Thermage to maximize skin tightening in a procedure called called SkinTite™ Lipo.

Liposculpture in Los Angeles

Liposculpture using only local anesthesia offers patients the highest safety record, fastest recovery, and least post-operative pain.

At his Los Angeles practice, Dr. Osman begins liposculpture by outlining the area to be sculpted carefully. Once marked, tiny entrance ports are made, and the area to be sculpted is numbed using a dilute solution of local anesthesia. After numbing, liposculpture begins, and the unwanted fat is removed using microsurgical suctioning tubes called cannulas. Infiltrating the fat with anesthesia prior to suctioning facilitates fat removal, reduces blood loss, provides anesthesia during and after surgery, and helps to reduce the amount of bruising after surgery.

Liposculpture Maximizes Fat Removal

More fat can be removed using Dr. Osman's technique of liposculpture because fat is loosened and spread apart as the area is filled with numbing solution. Smaller cannulas (tubes) and less force are needed to remove the fat. Less force leads to less trauma, smoother results, and a quicker recovery.

Less Pain and Faster Recovery with Liposculpture

We have all heard stories of patients going through a painful and prolonged recovery after traditional liposuction surgery done under general anesthesia. Liposculpture is a far more comfortable experience.  Dr. Osman minimizes post-operative pain by using the smallest cannulas possible to limit trauma during the procedure.  Less trauma causes less bruising and leads to a faster recovery.  Also, the local anesthesia used in liposculpture wears off very slowly providing comfort for hours after the procedure.  Further, there is no post-operative nausea or vomiting that can occur when general anesthesia is used.  Discomfort during liposculpture is minimized by anesthetizing the areas to be suctioned slowly and with oral medications.  Most of Dr. Osman's patients can return to work in 1 - 2 days after their procedure.

Safest technique

Liposculpture using local anesthesia only has an excellent safety record. No cases of death have ever been reported as a result of liposculpture wihout sedation. In contrast, deaths have been reported with other forms of liposuction when sedation has been used, and the risk increases if other procedures are performed at the same time as liposuction.

After surgery, patients can go home the same day and can usually return to work within two days. Patients may return to strenuous activity, including exercise, cautiously as soon as they feel ready. Results are visible immediately, though improvement may continue as swelling subsides during the first two to three months. Scars are small and inconspicuous.
